Pre-camp fears

It's only two weeks until Girls Camp! With my excitement comes the fears of forgetting my toothbrush again, or not packing enough underwear. Last year I had a dream that I forgot to pack underwear, so that's why I'm scared I'll forget one of the most important things! Have any of you had the pre-camp fear?

    my pre camp fear is that someone will use my stuff. like my first year i hadn't used one of my razors and on the 3rd day my razor had hair all over it. ok...GROSS! But that's only it, i love girls camp. 3rd year baby! :)

    I loved Girls Camp.
    Even if you forget something, you gotta remember (and this always helps me) that you're just camping, there won't be any boys, and you'll be home in what, 4 days? Underwear has lasted longer! ;) You'll be fine, even if you don't have your toothbrush. Hopefully, at the very least, someone will have gum ;)

    Brynn: Eww. Were did you put your razor? I love Girls Camp too!! Ha! I'm a second.

    Whitney: Monkey and I started making lists of things for camp yesterday, gum is number 7. It's very important!! #1 is a toothbrush! I think I might die without it.

    This summer is my 26th year at girl's camp, haha! Lauren is going for her 9th year! We go July 26th. MUST REMEMBER TOOTHBRUSH! :0

    Zach got back from scout camp with all of his underwear still clean. He and the other guys never took showers, and man, did they stink! He did change his socks...once.

    Yes! We both must! Um...I would have died of my own stench. How could they live without showering?

 Making fires fascinates me! I love setting it up and making sure it doesn't go out. I've learned to make the Tepee Fire, the Crisscross Fire, and the Star Fire. This Summer I actually made a fire with flint. It was the first time I had made a fire without matches! I now know how to set up a safe fire, start a fire, and extinguish a fire. Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!

I sit here and suffer while "It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" blast itself into my ears while I cringe, and scream inside. And just when I'm about to unplug the radio and hide the wire until after Christmas, I remember that it really is a wonderful time of the year! I get to go to my grandparents house, spend time with my family, and practice ignoring the annoying repetitious Christmas music that our local channels are already playing. It is wonderful because we are having amazing weather, and it is beautiful outside, and I have been able to sleep with my quilt without sweating in the night! I guess suffering through the stinky music will "build character"!!!! Maybe I'll become one of those crazy (somewhat awesome) people who listen to Christmas music all year because they can't get enough of it......*gasp* I guess I'll try to get my fill now.... Happy Thanksgiving!!!! What are you thankful for?!!!

Wednesday Night Diamond Poems

This week at our Young women activity we each had to teach a five minute lesson. I was completely stuck. I didn't have any idea of what to do. So I kind of held it off until the day of the activity. On Wednesday I was in a rush to find something fun to teach. My mom told me not to be boring. I had no idea what the other girls would like. So I went to my closet and I found a paper with the poems I've written. Then it literally hit me. I could teach how to write poems that I loved learning and I bet they would too. I was so excited that I had something to teach. I skipped over to my cubby. Yes, I still skip. As I said it's so hard to avoid! I got even happier when I found the instruction sheet for Diamond poems. For everyones information, Diamond poems are my favorite poems ever. I asked my dad to print out copies for me.
