The Importance of Being Lauren

Last Friday I went to volunteer at the elementary schools Valentine's Party. I had a good time, and the kids were really funny..... 1st Grade Class Party: The first grade classes were doing Valentine Card Scrapbooks for their project. (I liked that better then the " Caterpillar Of Love " thing the third graders did) I helped this one little boy who was uninterested in doing anything other than his Transformers Puzzle Valentine card he had gotten from a friend. As I was "helping" him glue things into his book he looked up and asked,"Why are you wearing nail polish? You're a boy!!!!" I just about fell over in surprise. I looked at the boy, laughed, and then told him,"Well, actually I'm a girl." "Really?" asked the boy. "Yes, really. I promise I am not lying to you!!!" When "Aquamarine" came out I begged my parents to get it at Blockbusters. Buster started groaning, and said,"I don't want to watch "Aquamarine", it's a girly movie! And I'm a boy!" The girls dominate in our family, so we won. Well guess who was sitting in front of the T.V, with his mouth dropped open, watching the movie like it was the most interesting thing ever. Buster! After we finished the movie all of my sisters, and I were talking about how much we loved it. Buster jumped into the conversation and said,"That movie was the best movie like ever!" The next day when he came home from Boy Scouts, he told us he told the boys in his troop,"Guy's yesterday I watched "Aquamarine"! It was so totally awesome!" To my surprise the other boys agreed with him, and then they started talking about other chick flicks they liked to watch. Um.. Hello boys this is not Girl Scouts! You're supposed to be hiking, and camping...

One Saturday we were at a restaurant with our Great-Grandparents. When we were leaving my Grandfather started talking to me. He said,"You know you're growing into a beautiful young man." I smiled politely and said,"Um. Thank you?" (I wasn't actually sure what to say.) So after that I told my family what had just happened. Huge mistake!! They still make fun of me! They say,"Oh! Sunbum , you're growing into such a beautiful young man *gag*!" Well I guess it's not as bad a some of the other things they tease me about! *By the way I am not turning into a young man so um it's all okay!*
