The Importance of Being Lauren

Girls Camp 2012 was amazing! I loved my 3rd year girls! They were all so amazing! <3 I was nevous to be a 3rd year leader because I absolutly loved being a 1st year lead last year, but, although it was differnt it was still awesome! This past week has been fantastic! I just got back from my 6th year of Girls Camp!! I went to look back on my past Girls Camp posts! I have had a recap post since my first year! It is amazing to look back and see how I've progressed the last couple years! I cannot even wrap my head around the fact that I am now officially a Senior in high school! I'm kind of freaking out so much! I only have four classes to go until I get my Associates Degree, but I'm a little bit worried because they're college science and math classes... But I know that as I pray and work hard it will turn out just fine! I have had such amazing service oppurtunities this year being Laurel president, High School Representative, and Seminary president, I'm just sad that my time is going to be crunched this next year and I won't be able to participate as much! Words cannot express how much love I feel for Spring Break right now. This picture pretty much sums up how I felt when I got out of school last Friday! It has been a crazy busy semester, so this week without having to worry about assignments and projects has been absolutely fantastic! Unfortunately, it's now Thursday and it is almost time to dive back into reality! :( Alright so here are five things that I love at the moment: 1. Sherlock Holmes on BBC!! Even when I am super busy I make time to watch this show! :) It has hilarious dialogue, plus it doesn't hurt that Sherlock is super cute! And the best part of this show is that the next episode for season two is going to air on my birthday!!!! To say that I am excited is a complete understatement! 2. Popcorn! The popcorn my mom buys hardly has any calories, it is delicious, and pretty much my favorite food at the moment! 3. The Clockwork Prince! Happy New Year!!!!! I cannot even believe that is is the year 2012! There are so many things that are going to happen this year (no, I do NOT mean the end of the world......well maybe for my parents...) That's right people I am FINALLY going to finish Driver's Ed and get my license within the next couple months (fingers crossed for Febuary), and I'm going to start applying to colleges by the end of the year! Eeek! This is also the year I turn 17! I am in shock.....Next year I will be a legal adult. I will officially be able to vote, and do other official adult stuff..... I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas, and that you had a fantstic New Year!! This year I'm going to try to write more on my Blog, because I just realized that I only posted about 9 times last year, and that's kind of sad.... Farewell for now!

I'M BACK! Well kind of. So it's time for another update on everything that has been happening in my life.... School: I am taking Interpersonal Communications, and Government 2302. I am pretty much in love with both of my teachers. They are fantabulous. My government teacher has so many amazing stories about his past and all the awesome things that he has done. My speech teacher is really spectacular as well. She is funny, and she makes the class laugh almost the whole time, she is extremely nice as well. I adore her and her Texas accent. I wish I had one! :) Job: Even though I pretty much JUST started working I've already had to train 3 people. They say I'm really good at training! And yesterday I had my first "review" by my boss, and I got a pay raise! Squeal!!!! I was happy, and then a really nice old lady told me I had a pretty smile, and so then I couldn't stop smiling! Dear Bloggy World, It has been a Loooooonnnngg while since I have visited you. And for that I am deeply sorry. You see I have been very busy these last couple months. No I am not kidding.....I actually have been busy. "What exactly have you been doing?" You may ask. Oh let me list the ways.... First of all I got my drivers permit. Words cannot express my excitement when the lady at the DPS uttered the words "Okay dear. You passed!! You're permit will be in the mail in a month." My face pretty much broke because my smile was so huge. Second, I got a job. I am now a proud employee of McDonald's. I pretty much love it. I've gotten the opportunity to meet so many new people and make a lot of new friends, and I've only been working there for three weeks. It's spectacular. Aieeeee! I'm turning 16!!!!!!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE IT. When I was 10 I always thought that my life would be so freaking awesome when I turned 16. I would be able to date, drive, and get a job! I'm UBER excited for driving!! Dating and job.....Um. Not so much. Dude. I'm getting OLD. My AMAZING Young Woman leader brought a chocolate cake and 16 candles for my birthday to mutual. I was so sad because I'm on a special diet and I cannot under any circumstance eat sugar. Therefore, i cannot eat cake, not just any cake, I cannot eat my BIRTHDAY CAKE. Yup definitely going to be the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER. I'm going to be writing a Government research paper, and presenting my art project in from 16+ people. I'm not even being sarcastic. I'm excited. It will be a challenge to both of those things and it will prepare me for other things in my life. *Next week is Finals! I am so happy!!! A while ago I decided to become more self aware. I kept track of all the things that bothered me about myself. Doing this made me realize that I complain.... A LOT. I don't even have a lot to complain about. I've been thinking about this ungrateful and whiny attitude that I've developed, and I also thought about how much it bothers me when other people do the same. I don't want to live my life with this bad attitude anymore. I learned in Seminary a couple weeks ago that a person's attitude affects everything. I LOVE being happy! So from now on I'm going to focus on my attitude, and the words that come from my mouth. Things I'm grateful for today: 5) Getting decent grades in school. And having awesome Professors. 4) I can listen to my favorite music pretty much all day everyday. 3) My Seminary teachers. 1) I have just been converted to the awesomeness that is the TV show "Psych". Can I just say this: "I freakin LOVE SHAWN SPENCER and Gus!!!" They are hilarious! Anyway. It's pretty much the bomb dot com! 2) So I spent most of my day yesterday watching one of my new favorite shows "Pretty Little Liars". I know that it LOOKS trashy, and some of the parts ARE trashy. But I was pleasantly surprised. I actually like it. It's like "Clue"....I suck at playing "Clue" though, so all the people I think are totally guilty are probably innocent. Anyway , I highly recommend this show, if you like mystery-drama. I don't like any other mystery-drama shows , so this is a first for me! So yeah. I'm spending my winter break on playing "Connect 4", eating Saltine crackers, babysitting, and catching up on my shows! I'm a bum.....

My sister Natalie and I were walking home from the duck pond yesterday, and we were just having a random conversation as usual. Then something she said reminded me of the movie Penelope" and so I blurted out quite loudly "I'm old enough to buy my own 'Ho Hos', mother!!!" Natalie and I laughed and laughed because we are both in love with that movie. When I was done laughing I looked to the left and realized that I had not seen the lady that was gardening right next to us. She looked at Nat and I and shook her head dissapoovingly.
